Education

All public schools serving Bowen Island are located within School District #45, West Vancouver.

Bowen Island’s elementary school was established in 1893. It serves students from kindergarten through grade seven.

The Bowen school is also the only ‘Community’ school within the district. This classification means that all Bowen residents are considered members of the school ‘family’ and are welcome to hold office in the Community School Association (CSA)

Furthermore, the school and its gym is used extensively in the late
afternoons and evenings by the community. All little children are welcome to use the playground especially designed for the younger set.

In addition to the public school, Bowen Island is the home of Island Pacific School, a small, independent school, with high standards, serving grades six through nine.

After grade 7, Bowen students attend one of the three junior or senior secondary schools located in West Vancouver and are bussed to and from the ferry each day.
